The Facilities Management Division is looking for a well-qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Foreman for the Second Shift at the Downtown District. Second Shift work hours are Monday through Thursday 3:30PM-11:30PM and Friday 12pm-8:30PM). This is supervisory work over crews of employees engaged in a variety of routine to complex maintenance work.

Job Description
General Functions:
Performs moderate to difficult supervisory work in a wide variety of areas.
Distinguishing Characteristics of Work:
This is supervisory work over crews of employees engaged in a variety of routine to complex work.
An employee assigned to a position allocated to this class of work supervises the activities of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled employees performing work in a specified area of County responsibility.
Jobs are assigned by priority and completion date with discretionary judgment exercised in daily production and quality of workmanship. Supervision is received from a higher graded supervisor who may inspect the crew's work in progress. Performance is evaluated based on results achieved.
Representative Duties/Assignments:
High school graduate or equivalent and two or more years of experience in facilities or maintenance operations to include some previous supervisory duties
May be required to possess and maintain the appropriate valid Florida Commercial Driver's License for the type of equipment operated.
May be required to perform mandatory Emergency Standby Duty.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
Preferences:
Knowledge of building systems, trades, and materials including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, flooring, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Experience with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems) such as Maximo.
Experience in the use of handheld computers (tablets)

- Provides direct supervision of assigned maintenance team and outside vendors, including supervising, assigning, coordinating, reviewing, and participating in all aspects of maintenance.
- Plans, schedules, and supervises assigned employees engaged in the completion of preventative maintenance work orders for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
- Inspects work in progress and upon completion.
- Determines the most economical way to repair or provide maintenance to equipment as necessary.
- Oversees and may perform the inspections and testing of equipment to determine the nature of defects and failures.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning problems and suggests maintenance approach on difficult maintenance/repair problems.
- Ensure records of work performed are completed. Prepare records and reports as required.
- Directs modifications and re-inspect maintenance work as necessary.
- Instructs employees in the proper methods, use, and equipment used in the completion of maintenance work.
- Reads working diagrams, sketches and simple blueprints and translates requirement to oral and written instructions.
- Observes for safety hazards and takes precautionary measures.
- May directly participate in the work of crews as necessary.
- Performs other related work as required.
