The Orange County Fire Authority is seeking a Purchasing Division Manager to join its team. The Purchasing Division Manager will report to the Assistant Chief of Business Services and will manage a team of 6 professionals and oversee acquisition services at OCFA Headquarters, 78 fire stations, the Emergency Command Center, and other facilities and infrastructure that support mission-critical services. This position will also play a crucial role during major fire incidents, fulfilling emergency acquisition demands to support staff during these events.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities qualifies. Typical qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field. Seven years of progressively responsible purchasing experience in a public agency, including two years of supervisory experience.

The ideal candidate for the Purchasing Division Manager role is an experienced public-sector professional with a proven track record of overseeing complex procurement in a large organization. They will demonstrate strong leadership, capable of managing a diverse team involved in all centralized purchasing activities. The candidate must have deep knowledge of government procurement laws at the federal, state, and local levels, or the ability to quickly learn these requirements. Experience in developing policies, managing budgets, and assessing program effectiveness will be an asset in this role. The candidate will excel at building cooperative relationships within the Authority, with agencies, and stakeholders, bringing collaborative spirit, excellent communication, and coordination skills.
Schedule
This position will be 100% onsite for the first year of employment. OCFA offers flexible scheduling such as 4/10, 9/80, and 5/40.
