Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Multimedia Designer to support a federal program by developing engaging visual communications, multimedia content, and digital assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, web content creation, multimedia production, and visual storytelling. This individual will work collaboratively with program personnel and stakeholders to transform concepts into compelling visual experiences across digital, print, audio, and video platforms.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional design skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Design & Visual Communications

  • Develop innovative concepts, layouts, and visual designs for web, digital, and print media.
  • Create visually compelling graphics, banners, brochures, posters, infographics, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Design user-friendly and aesthetically appealing web graphics and digital content.
  • Ensure visual consistency and adherence to organizational branding guidelines.

Multimedia Production

  • Create and edit multimedia content including audio presentations, video presentations, animations, and interactive content.
  • Produce high-quality multimedia assets for training, communications, outreach, and program initiatives.
  • Convert, optimize, and manage various image, video, and graphic file formats for multiple platforms and delivery methods.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with program personnel, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements.
  • Translate concepts, ideas, and technical information into engaging visual content.
  • Present design concepts, creative solutions, and project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions while maintaining project timelines and quality standards.

Content Development

  • Design and develop multimedia presentations, web content, educational materials, and communication products.
  • Support internal and external communications through visually engaging content.
  • Assist with the creation of digital resources that enhance user engagement and information delivery.

Project Management & Quality Assurance

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and project objectives.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Perform quality reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
  • Maintain organized project files, design assets, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two-five (5) years of experience in graphic design, multimedia design, visual communications, or a related field.
  • Associate degree (AA/AS) in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communications, or related discipline.
  • Experience designing graphics and content for web, print, and multimedia platforms.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design, multimedia production, and visual communication expertise.
  • Experience creating presentations, marketing materials, infographics, and digital assets.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal, government, or public sector programs.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for digital content.
  • Experience designing training materials, educational content, or communications products.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and web publishing platforms.
  • Experience producing motion graphics, animations, or video editing projects.

Technical Skills

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation design tools
  • Video and audio editing software
  • Digital image optimization and file conversion tools
  • Web graphics and digital content creation
