What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Manager position at Optomi?
Job Description
Optomi, in partnership with a leading technology group within the hospitality industry, is looking for a Product Manager.
Position Summary: The company is preparing to expand its Enterprise Kiosk initiative, a guest-facing self-service check-in experience that will function as a lightweight version of the existing Spock platform. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience building, launching, or supporting enterprise kiosk applications, preferably within the airline or hospitality industry.
This person will help shape the architecture, product strategy, and technical execution of the company’s next-generation kiosk platform while ensuring a seamless guest experience and integration with existing PMS systems.
Beyond technical skills, the team appears to want someone who has already solved these problems elsewhere rather than someone learning them for the first time. They specifically referenced United Airlines because of its mature self-service ecosystem (including early adoption of features like passport scanning), suggesting they value candidates who can bring proven best practices.
This is less about finding a generic software engineer and more about finding someone who understands how large-scale customer-facing self-service platforms are designed, integrated, and adopted. The ideal candidate has experience balancing software, hardware, user experience, operational workflows, and enterprise integrations to deliver a reliable kiosk solution.
Job Must Haves:
- Experience building or managing self-service kiosk platforms.
- Strong preference for candidates from United Airlines due to their success with airport self-service technology and mobile innovations.
- Experience with:
- Airport or hospitality check-in systems
- Guest or passenger-facing applications
- Loyalty platforms
- Enterprise platform architecture
- Experience working across product, engineering, and hardware teams.
Job Nice to Haves:
- Passport or ID scanning technologies
- Airline check-in workflows
- Digital boarding or check-in experiences
- Loyalty platform integrations
- Hospitality technology
- Guest identity verification
- Self-service transaction flow
What the responsibilities are of the right candidate:
- Help design and evolve the Enterprise Kiosk platform.
- Partner with engineering, product, and hardware teams.
- Develop scalable kiosk experiences that integrate with the PMS ecosystem.
- Balance guest usability with operational efficiency.
- Influence technical direction and future roadmap decisions.
- Help determine whether physical kiosks or mobile-first experiences provide the best long-term strategy.
