Optomi is seeking a senior data professional to help organize and advance a modern data organization. This role combines data product ownership, business analysis, portfolio management, and operational leadership.
This is not a traditional Project Manager position. The right candidate will understand modern data environments and confidently connect business stakeholders with data engineering, analytics, data science, and governance teams.
Position Details:
- Remote with occasional travel to Wilmington, NC
- Senior individual contributor with no direct reports initially
- Two-round interview process
Responsibilities:
- Gather business requirements and translate them into actionable data initiatives
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical leaders
- Manage priorities across data engineering, analytics, data science, and governance
- Build project plans and track milestones, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
- Improve portfolio visibility, status reporting, and stakeholder communication
- Identify gaps and escalate project risks
- Strengthen intake, prioritization, and planning processes
- Improve Agile ceremonies, team meetings, and operating procedures
- Help the data organization operate more efficiently and consistently
Required Qualifications:
- Strong modern data platform experience, including Databricks
- Financial services or banking experience
- Understanding of data engineering, analytics, data science, and governance
- Product ownership, business analysis, or data program experience
- Portfolio and project management experience
- Data or analytics consulting experience
- Enterprise data integration experience
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Excellent stakeholder and executive communication
- Ability to operate independently and manage ambiguity
Salary : $65 - $75
