What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commodities Marketer position at Optimus?
A key Optimus client is looking for a commercially aggressive, customer-obsessed Commodities Marketer to help expand our liquids marketing platform across North America.
This is an opportunity for a true book builder—someone who knows how to originate barrels, create customer stickiness, solve logistics problems, and turn market dislocations into profitable flow.
The ideal candidate brings:
- a strong background in some combination of crude oil, condensate, fuels, butane, naphtha, or related hydrocarbon streams, along with the
- grit, commercial creativity, and market instincts that separate great marketers from average ones.
- The ability to not only maintain business, but to create it
You will:
- Own customer relationships,
- identify new commercial pathways,
- structure creative purchase and sales solutions,
- leverage our client’s purchasing, gathering, transportation, and trade finance capabilities to grow a differentiated book.

- a bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- demonstrable experience providing commercial services in the commodity of your expertise
- significant understanding of the infrastructure and key players in your region of expertise
- strong negotiation skills
