If you enjoy hands-on work, solving problems, and being an essential part of a transportation team, we'd love to hear from you.We are seeking a dependable and motivated Yard Marshal / Fleet Yard Coordinator to oversee the daily movement, inspection, and readiness of our fleet. This position plays a critical role in ensuring trucks are safe, fueled, properly maintained, and dispatched on time.
The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
Move and park trucks safely throughout the yard.
Fuel company vehicles and monitor fuel levels.
Inspect equipment for damages and report issues immediately.
Perform minor maintenance and basic repairs when needed.
Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
Monitor daily fleet operations and workflow.
Report late arrivals, vehicle damages, maintenance concerns, and operational issues.
Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records.
Communicate with drivers using radio, phone, and dispatch software.
Coordinate with maintenance vendors for repairs when necessary.
Track inventory of fluids, tools, and spare parts and recommend restocking as needed.
Ensure all company safety policies and DOT procedures are followed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment.
Support dispatch and operations to ensure daily schedules are completed efficiently.
Qualifications -
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus but not required).
DOT Medical card
Ability to drive commercial vehicles within the yard and as needed.
Previous experience in fleet operations, transportation, logistics, or yard management preferred.
Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor vehicle repairs.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Bilingual - English / Spanish a plus

Full-Time
12-hour shifts
Five days per week
Weekend availability required
Pay: $180.00 - $200.00 per day
