LOGISTICS DRIVER

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor, the Logistics Driver will perform daily local deliveries and pick-ups to various locations to support internal and external customers. The Logistics Driver will also be responsible for the safety and proper transportation of in-house and customer materials such as orders, donations, mail and laundry in their custody such as proper stacking, wrapping, labeling, physical movement of materials/loading and unloading while driving and load planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as  mandated by state law.
2. Some travel to a variety of locations in the Las Vegas area and between Opportunity Village campuses.
3. Must be able to meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel:

• Between worksite locations
• Within the community

1. Accurately complete pre-and-post shift inspection and preventative maintenance logs for assigned vehicle.
2. Assist with the loading of company vehicles; adhere to all safety requirements including proper lifting techniques, use of dollies, lift gates, use of seat belts and other equipment when moving material.
3. Based on contractual requirements and direction of Opportunity Village management, maintain the highest degree of security and control of customer confidential material collection.
4. Ensure the condition of the load and that it is securely fastened.
5. Assists in obtaining accurate inventory counts of goods stored on company property.
6. Follow the correct safety procedures when goods are being transported.
7. Responsible for accurate and legible completion of all documents such as service tickets, delivery tickets and customer documentation.
8. Drives a truck or van to make deliveries or pick-ups.
9. Prepares goods for transport and storage.
10. Assists in the organization of goods stored in the warehouse.
11. Communicate route variable with manager such as heavy traffic conditions, lag time with dock availability, lag time with customer specific needs and requests.
12. Process and accept credit card payments accurately and securely, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations.
13. Maintain clean and swept vehicle.
14. Assists in cleaning yard and dock space as needed.
15. Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
16. May be assigned other duties as needed.

• Ability to safely operate pallet jack and forklift.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Required: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving history.

• Required: Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Minimum one (1) year of work experience in a role requiring minimal supervision.
• Preferred: Local truck driving experience.
• Preferred: Three (3) years of truck driving experience
