SALES MANAGER – Capital Equipment
SUMMARY: Individuals in this position are responsible for managing the company’s sales team. Specifically, those activities include inbound requests for quotation, directing them to the appropriate resources for translating customer requirements and preparing quotations, managing the inside sales and order entry functions of the sales department, including phone coverage, estimating cost and assigning margins, requests for technical information, order management communications and quotations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategizes, plans, organizes, directs and controls all activities related to marketing, inside sales, order entry and communication
- Directs daily activity related to processing RFQ’s (Requests for Quotation) for standard and non-standard products including the review of RFQ applications for feasibility, assignment of internal resources, and customer commitments
- Directs activities related to processing orders to ensure customer satisfaction
- Establishes standards of performance for cost estimating, quoting, order entry, order processing and customer support
- Delivers goals, objectives and performance evaluations to team members as driven by organization’s annual strategic plan
- Directs activities related to re-seller support of daily activities involving quoting and order management
- Creates and maintains relative ISO documentation
- Performs other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guides and directs the sales, marketing, and customer service team
- Develop and implement sales strategies
- Manages the sales pipeline
- Ensures the sales team meets sales goals
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with manufacturing processes, products, and the industrial sector
- Proven professionalism, management, and leadership skills including a leadership approach inside and outside areas of direct responsibility are required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and relate to distributors and end-use customers
- Working technical knowledge of company products is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of electrical controls
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration is required
- Minimum of 10 years’ work experience is required
- Additional relative work experience may be considered in conjunction with less formal education
- Master’s degree in business administration is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
