We are seeking a dynamic, hunter-minded Territory Account Manager to drive OPM’s cell culture media and upstream services business across the East Coast and Midwest regions. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in customer-facing environments, builds strong scientific relationships, and is passionate about advancing bioprocessing innovation.
You’ll work closely with key and emerging accounts in Boston, Philadelphia, Raleigh, and Chicago, managing the full sales cycle—from lead generation to closing—while collaborating with technical sales and business development teams. This position will also cover select Midwestern and Great Lakes states (including IL, IN, MI, OH, WI, MN, and TX), with close coordination and smooth hand-off to the West Coast Territory Manager for national opportunities.
The role requires extensive customer interaction and travel (> 50%) across the assigned territory to build and maintain relationships, support on-site visits, and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive revenue growth by achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets for OPM’s cell culture media and related upstream solutions.
• Develop and expand a robust customer network across biopharma, CDMO, and biotech accounts.
• Identify and seed new business opportunities through prospecting, scientific discussions, and industry networking.
• Manage the entire sales cycle—from lead qualification and presentations to pricing negotiations and closing deals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Sales Specialists and Marketing on campaigns, product launches, and customer events.
• Leverage CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Sales Navigator) to maintain an accurate pipeline and account strategy.
• Understand customer R&D and manufacturing workflows to tailor media solutions and identify upsell opportunities.
• Provide market intelligence and feedback to leadership on customer trends and competitive activity.
• Represent OPM at industry conferences and trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate new leads.
Qualifications
• B.S./M.S. in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related life sciences field.
• 2–5 years of technical or field sales experience, preferably in upstream cell culture media, bioprocessing consumables, or reagents.
• Proven ability to prospect, qualify, and close business within biotech or CDMO accounts.
• Strong understanding of upstream workflows—media optimization, scale-up, and perfusion processes preferred.
• Experience with CRM and sales tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, and Sales Navigator.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated hunter mentality with a track record of exceeding targets.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently within a regional territory.
What We Offer
• Competitive compensation package including base salary commission incentives.
• A collaborative and open culture that values initiative, transparency, and cross-functional teamwork.
• A dynamic environment that supports professional growth and long-term career development.
• Comprehensive benefits and travel support for regional coverage.
