Job Title: Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator
Salary: $24 - $29/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; rotating on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays as required

As an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, providing environmental protection and supporting community health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant processes, including process monitoring, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic to advanced mechanical and electrical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, HVAC systems, VFDs, and other electrical and automation equipment.
- Support daily plant operations under the supervision of the plant manager.
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations for plant coverage outside standard hours, and respond promptly to emergency situations.
- Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- Experience in operation and maintenance of pumps, motors, electrical and automation equipment, plumbing, boilers, and compressors is preferred.
- A wastewater license is not required but is preferred; training will be provided to obtain licensure.
- High School diploma or trade school certificate or equivalent.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions related to wastewater treatment work.
- Proficiency with computer applications and the ability to learn software such as Hach WIMS, SEMS CMMS, and Utility Cloud.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
- Capable of lifting or moving up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Ability to make sound decisions, follow instructions, and adhere to safety procedures.
- Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in hazardous environments and adverse weather conditions.
- Capable of working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as part of shift rotations.
