TITLE: Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator
SALARY: $24 - $29/hr
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; rotating on-call, weekend, and holiday shifts

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Monitor and adjust treatment processes to optimize efficiency and compliance.
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, HVAC units, and electrical systems including VFDs and power distribution.
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and respond to emergency situations as needed, including work in inclement weather.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
- Support the daily functions of the treatment facility under the direction of the plant manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or trade school certification; technical training is a plus.
- Experience working with pumps, motors, electrical and automation equipment, plumbing fixtures, boilers, and compressors is preferred.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and hazards associated with wastewater treatment.
- Proficiency with computer software applications and ability to learn new systems such as Hach WIMS, SEMS CMMS, and Utility Cloud.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Strong decision-making skills, ability to follow instructions precisely, and adhere to safety procedures.
- Willingness to work in hazardous conditions and participate in shift, weekend, and holiday schedules.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. and perform manual tasks under adverse conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in confined or hazardous environments.
MUST HAVES FOR ROLE:
- Meets the health and physical condition standards deemed necessary and proper for performance of these duties.
- Is able to work in hazardous conditions.
- Is able to work shift, weekend and holiday schedules.
