JOB SUMMARY
The Health Assistant will help manage client information related to the agency's regulatory and compliance requirements. The role involves collecting, processing, and entering health-related data into various systems, following up with families, staff, and community partners as needed, assisting with student care when appropriate, and organizing at least three health-related activities for families each year.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Efficient and accurate data entry
- Basic knowledge of health information in an educational setting preferred
- Child Plus and Procare software knowledge preferred
- Ability to move and lift up to 45lbs
- Knowledge of HIPAA preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collect and maintain student health records including medical home, health history, immunization history, allergies and medications for data entry in ChildPlus and/or Procare
- Communicate with families' child(rens) health needs and results in accordance with agency compliance
- Interact with families, staff and partner staff in a positive and courteous manner
- Communicate with the Swope Dental team to maintain compliance needs and support follow-up for resources and completion
- Collaborate with the Health Team and other internal agency departments to support program success
- Research client information on Health databases
- Gather and disseminate all health documentation to the appropriate parties promptly
- Assist in health screens and clinics
- Monitor medication backpacks, including documentation and medication expiration for all classrooms
- Create and coordinate a minimum of three health events for families per year
- Participate in all staff development activities, as appropriate.
