What You'll Do
You'll handle a wide range of building and grounds repairs:
- Complete assigned work orders from start to finish
- General carpentry, remodeling, and light electrical/plumbing repairs
- Painting, drywall patching, caulking, locks, appliances, and fixtures
- Preventative maintenance & safety inspections
- Grounds care: snow removal, lawn mowing, clearing debris
- Assemble or move office furniture when needed
- Oversee volunteers or program participants during projects
- Drive fleet vehicles (pickup, vans, box truck) for materials or property needs
- Occasionally assist after-hours with emergencies (water leaks, heating, weather-related issues)
What We're Looking For
- Committed Christian who supports the mission of "restoring hope and changing lives"
- Experience in general maintenance, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, or related trades (1 year)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Skilled with basic power tools and hand tools
- Reliable, safety-conscious, calm in emergencies
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and work indoors/outdoors year-round
- Valid NY State Driver's License and acceptable driving record
- Comfortable interacting tactfully with staff, guests, volunteers, donors, and vendors
- Experience in residential or commercial maintenance
- Remodeling or multi-trade experience
- Prior nonprofit, ministry, or community-service environment experience
- $19-$20 per hour based on experience
- Full-time schedule; occasional evenings/weekends for emergencies
