Open Door Health Services is seeking a full-time Billing Specialist at our Walnut St. location in Muncie, Indiana.
Overview
As a Billing Specialist you will uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values. Under the direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle this position will file appropriate billing forms for private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare, collect fees that are due, and maintain appropriate records of such transactions.

This position is located at 220 S. Walnut St., Muncie, IN.
Roles & Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Handle billing operations (insurance, Medicaid/Medicare), claim submissions, payment posting, and resolving rejected claims.
- Maintain financial records and reporting, including daily balancing, monthly reports, and tracking outstanding claims.
- Manage patient account activities, such as collecting balances, updating insurance info, and handling adjustments (e.g., bankruptcy).
- Support EMR and administrative coordination, including downloading documentation, resolving system issues, and entering outreach data.
- Ensure communication, compliance, and team support, including working with staff/vendors, training front desk staff, and protecting patient privacy.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
- Prefer experience in a billing department of health care facility.
