What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wireless Technical Program Manager position at OP?

We re looking for a passionate, motivated Technical Program Manager who thrives on driving results, championing process excellence, and inspiring teams to achieve their best in the pursuit of technological excellence. As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead the charge in bringing innovative new products to life. You ll oversee the development of next-generation modules and subsystems that set the standard in the industry, guiding multidisciplinary teams through the complex New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

This role calls for a proactive leader who can collaborate seamlessly with internal teams and external partners, establish clear requirements, manage tight schedules, and navigate risks with strategic mitigation plans. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships at all levels will be key to ensuring smooth, on-time delivery in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the AR wireless engineering team to define, design, and execute hardware projects.
  • Develop and manage wireless development schedules, keeping stakeholders informed and proactively identifying/addressing potential setbacks.
  • Work cross-functionally to establish and drive best practices and technology development processes in a dynamic environment, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables, including architecture definitions, build goals, and wireless requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of firmware releases for factory use during builds.
  • Track and report engineering issues encountered during the build process, providing regular status updates to leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with component and module qualification, validation, and characterization processes.
  • 3 years of experience as an engineering manager or Technical Program Manager, managing hardware or firmware projects from concept to mass production.
  • 3 years of experience working with wireless hardware module projects.
  • 3 years of wireless design and/or implementation experience, in hardware and/or firmware.
  • In-depth knowledge of the product development process for consumer wireless hardware, including firmware integration to meet hardware delivery goals.
  • Experience in communicating and operating autonomously across multiple teams and projects.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in OP monthly team meetings and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OP technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
