Position Summary: We’re seeking an R&D Manager with a strong foundation in nutrition, food science, and culinary innovation to support the development of wellness-centric menu items. You’ll play a hands-on role in concept ideation, product testing, and nutritional optimization to ensure every item we launch aligns with our wellness-first brand mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Logistics, Operations) to support the development of new menu items from concept to commercialization.
- Conduct research on emerging health trends, functional ingredients, and dietary lifestyles (e.g., plant-based, gluten-free, low-sugar).
- Assist in formulation of recipes that meet nutritional guardrails while maintaining high taste and operational feasibility.
- Support testing and iterative development through lab/kitchen trials, consumer tastings, and pilot programs.
- Analyze nutritional content and ensure regulatory compliance with menu labeling, allergens, and dietary claims.
- Document processes including ingredient specifications, SOPs, and test results to ensure reproducibility and quality standards.
- Coordinate with manufacturers to source innovative ingredients that align with our philosophy.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Culinary Science, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, nutrition labeling, and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA, etc.).
- Culinary curiosity and a passion for health-forward food.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with product development software or nutrition analysis tools (e.g., Genesis, Food Processor, MenuCalc) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a quick-service restaurant (QSR) or health-focused food brand.
- Familiarity with functional ingredients and superfoods.
- Ability to adapt recipes for various dietary needs and preferences.
