We’re currently seeking a full-time, in-person Slgn Language Interpreter to support a school in Dakota County, MN for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: June 11, 2027
- Location: Dakota County, MN
- Onsite, 35 hours per week
- School Year: 2026-2027
Qualifications:
- Holds RID-NIC certification or has 4.0 on the EIPA and has passed the written exam, or holds a provisional certificate.
- Ability to interpret accurately in classroom settings while preserving meaning and intent across languages.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust interpreting approach to match a student’s communication needs and the setting.
- Commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality when handling student and school information.
- Experience in an educational setting (preferred).
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken classroom instruction and discussion into sign language to support student access.
- Voice students’ signed communication to teachers, peers, and staff to enable two-way participation.
- Provide interpreting support during lessons and school-related activities (including group work and assemblies) to promote full inclusion.
- Facilitate communication during peer interactions to support appropriate social participation when needed.
- Partner with teachers and school staff to align interpreting support with the student’s learning environment and communication needs.
