Position: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSITANT I – PART-TIME
Reports to: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of supervised office support and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents or materials. Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and assists other office personnel as required. Employee may be called upon in case of disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Onslow County. This service, if required, will take precedence over duties described in this position as directed by the Executive Director or Chief Operating Officer. This position is a non-exempt position as required by the Fair Labor Standard Act, as amended. This position is subject to pre-employment and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Transportation Administration guidelines and local OUTS policy. A criminal background check and driver’s license check will be conducted.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of two years of office experience
- Familiarity with Windows-based computer operating systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Working knowledge of proper office procedures
- Have good oral and written communication skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives calls from clients and authorized funding agencies to schedule, cancel, and set pick up times of transportation services
- Input transportation requests for scheduling
- Reviews and verify records and reports to ensure that required information is provided and is correct.
- Reviews transportation applications concerning funding sources in conjunction with the Executive Director for approval
- Maintains database of clients and current riding status on scheduling software
- Coordinates transportation services with auxiliary providers and sends appropriate authorization documents to clients
- Answers general business telephone calls and routes calls to appropriate parties
8. Assures that all work is done in a timely fashion while meeting all corporate standards for quality
- Responsible for relaying to Chief Operating Officer and Administrative Officer methods and procedures that will save OUTS’ time that will make OUTS’ more efficient
- In puts data into established scheduling database on limited information and performs periodic follow-up activities
- Maintains a positive working relationship with employees, management and contractual client agencies and the general public
- Performs any other duty or responsibility necessary to develop and maintain effective coordination and good public relations, including assisting other staff in the performance of their duties and responsibilities
- Assists Administrative Officer with annual maintenance and retention of office records review
- Other general and specific duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with one hour for lunch and one (1) 15-minute break
- Work schedule may be flexible upon approval of Chief Operating Officer
- Will occasionally be required to be on-call in the event of an emergency
