Job Summary:
Onewell Health Care is seeking a Payroll Administrator to oversee payroll compliance, reporting, and administration. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll tax administration, system management, and healthcare industry compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Compliance: Ensure payroll filings and payments comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Payroll Processing Oversight: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate tax calculations, withholdings, and deductions.
- Tax Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings (941, 940, W-2, etc.).
- Audit & Compliance Support: Maintain compliance with IRS, DOL, and healthcare industry payroll tax regulations, supporting internal and external audits.
- Payroll System Administration: Configure and maintain payroll systems to ensure proper tax setup, automation, and integration with HRIS and accounting systems.
- State & Local Registrations: Manage payroll tax account setup for new states, ensuring compliance as the company expands.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, responding to agency notices and employee tax-related inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance payroll tax workflows, accuracy, and efficiency through automation and best practices.
- Collaboration & Training: Work closely with HR, finance, and IT teams to align payroll tax processes and provide training on tax-related matters. Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in payroll tax administration, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Paycom, UKG, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in tax reconciliations, reporting, and payroll system configuration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential payroll information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external agencies.Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.
