Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional in Allegheny, PA. Key responsibilities include providing hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, accompanying individuals to community activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The role also involves fostering a supportive and respectful environment while helping individuals achieve their personal goals and maintain their dignity.
Qualifications
- Ability to assist individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation, hygiene, and mobility support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with individuals, families, and team members
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and documentation to ensure well-being and compliance
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or experience in caregiving or working with individuals with I/DD preferred
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks when providing support
