OneSparQ is looking for a Construction Materials Technician for an engineering consulting firm in Athens, GA.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with field tasks and conduct basic sample testing and observations of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and asphalt
- Document and prepare testing and observation data using a laptop or tablet, ensuring accurate submission to the Project Manager
- Communicate testing and inspection results clearly and effectively
- Begin in a support role with progressively increased responsibilities and training in work assignments
- Ensure all testing equipment and tools are properly calibrated and maintained
- Follow all safety rules, practices, and project-specific safety requirements
- Perform pre-task planning before executing work and report any safety concerns to management
Required Skills:
- 1-5 years of relevant experience with concrete, materials soil or other construction process testing and documenting
- ACI or ICC certifications such as Concrete Field Testing Technician or Concrete Strength Testing Technician
Additional Skills:
- Additional certifications such as NICET, American Welding Society (AWS), Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI), American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
