One13north is a modern American restaurant, featuring unique dishes and specialty craft cocktails. We are looking for professional sous chefs and line cooks to join our team!
We're looking for high energy team players with a guest-first attitude who are eager to learn and pride themselves on providing exceptional guest experiences. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 years prep or line cook experience in a high volume fine dining setting and have strong knowledge in basic cooking, plating, and knife skills.
Your role as a Line Cook is extremely important to our success. Our line cooks are responsible for preparing food in a timely manner, maintaining One13s high level of food quality and presentation, minimizing unnecessary food waste, and maintaining high levels of food safety and food preparation in alignment with the health department national standards.
Responsibilities
· Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
· Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
· Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
· Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
· Clean up station and take care of leftover food
· Stock inventory appropriately
· Ensure that food is finished simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
· Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
· Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
· Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, grills, fryers and a variety of kitchen equipment.
· Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
· Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
· Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
· Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
· Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
· Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
· Follows proper plate presentation.
· Communicates well with others and is a great team player
Must have night / weekend availability. Must be able to stand for the duration of shifts. Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs. Prior fine-dining experience preferred.
