POSITION SUMMARY
The Fuel Accounting Specialist position provides accounting support by reconciling assigned accounts and working closely with various levels of management for fuel information needs. In addition, various accounting duties will be required of this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Administer the accounts payable responsibilities for all fuel carriers
- Identify and record various miscellaneous billing charges while determining proper general ledger codes
- Download and import fuel activity daily into system software
- Assist stores daily with fuel inventory problems
- Audit store information
- Process a light volume of accounts payable vendor payments
- Responsibility as a backup for various positions
- Complete special projects as requested by Management/Executive team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- General accounting experience
- Ability to communicate across departments to solve complex fuel issues
- Advanced computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to troubleshoot in various software
- Excellent analytical and reasoning skills
- Strong expertise related to organization, time management and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
- Willingness to perform additional responsibilities unique to the position
- Team player with ability to adapt to change with a focus on continuous improvement
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel short and long distances
- Ability to communicate through written and verbal practices
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods of time
- Continuous manual dexterity
- Lifting requirements include lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds on occasion
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Sufficient visual acuity
