Certified Forklift Operator
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday with possible overtime opportunities
Job Summary
A Turret Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a turret truck (swing reach forklift) to move, locate, stack, and count inventory in narrow aisle warehouse environments. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced distribution or logistics setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate a turret truck/forklift safely and efficiently
- Pick, pull, move, stack, and stage products and pallets
- Work in very narrow aisle (VNA) warehouse environments
- Load and unload materials from racks and trailers
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Maintain inventory accuracy and follow quality standards
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
- Meet productivity and performance metrics such as pallets per hour/day
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company procedures
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a turret forklift/swing reach truck required
- Ability to work at elevated heights
- Experience with RF scanners preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- OSHA forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and move boxes weighing approximately 50–60 pounds individually
- Some items may exceed 60 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
