What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Plant Technician position at On-site Staffing Services?
Job Title: Outside Plant Technician
1st Shift Monday through Friday and some Saturdays.
5/6 am start time – depending on workload.
$22/hour base pay, and will get an additional 30% working outdoors
As an Outside Plant Technician, you must show a strong work ethic and be highly motivated to learn new things. Your ability to learn the following skills and competencies will determine your acceleration in the company. You will be working outdoors.
Competencies required for successful employment at Level 1:

• Use the time clock system accurately for hours worked, breaks, etc.
• Safety – Learns to follow all safety rules and regulations

• Always wears PPE – no exceptions
• Glasses, steel-toed boots, vest, face shield when cutting or grinding, gloves as needed
• Learning to recognize safety hazards
• Asks appropriate questions regarding safety
• Takes safety seriously
• Reports all safety problems to Foreman/Supervisor
• Quality – Has a mindset of quality for all work tasks
• Learns to perform quality work that meets the Company standard
• Upon training, does not need to be reminded of quality expectations
• Work is very precise and consistent
• Always looking for ways to improve quality
• Able to carry out directions as required and specified
• Equipment Maintenance & Operation – Understands appropriate use of all equipment
• Actively learning to use hand and power tools properly and in a safe manner
• Cleans and maintains tools daily, putting them away in the designated area at the end of each shift
• Take care of company tools and equipment, utilizing them properly and with care, as if they were your own.
• Knowledge & Skills – Continually looks to grow knowledge and skills
• Reads a tape measure accurately
• Can use simple math skills (addition/subtraction)
• Build knowledge of precast concrete processes and procedures and use that knowledge to accelerate position in the business.
• Follows directions from supervisor/lead & is not afraid to ask questions.
Qualifications:
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Must understand and speak basic English, but not necessary.
• Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have some experience or knowledge of construction
• Must have steel-toed boots
