This role is critical to ensuring our event marketing efforts run smoothly, professionally, and successfully—from transportation to setup to execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Event Marketing Lead Driver / Set-Up Associate include (but are not limited to):
Safely Transport Event Displays & Materials
- Drive trucks and haul trailers to event locations
- Ensure safe and timely transportation of displays and equipment
- Follow DOT compliance and safe driving practices
- Plan routes and manage time to ensure on-time arrivals
Lead Event Booth Setup & Breakdown Execution
- Set up and tear down booths, tents, and displays
- Ensure correct installation and professional presentation
- Meet setup and teardown timelines
- Troubleshoot on-site setup challenges
Maintain Event Display Quality & Prevent Damage
- Handle and protect displays during transport and setup
- Inspect displays and equipment for damage or wear
- Report repair and maintenance needs
- Properly load, unload, and store materials
Ensure Compliance, Safety & Fleet Readiness
- Maintain valid driver’s license and DOT Medical Card
- Conduct vehicle and trailer inspections
- Track and report safety issues or incidents
- Maintain readiness of trucks, trailers, and equipment
Support Event Marketing Success Through Execution
- Collaborate with the event marketing team
- Ensure all materials are event-ready
- Maintain punctuality and dependability
- Support overall event execution needs
- Uphold brand standards in all setups
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
- Knowledge: Familiarity with event logistics, basic assembly techniques, and handling promotional materials and display equipment. Understanding of safe lifting and loading practices.
- Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet setup and teardown deadlines. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with the events and marketing teams.
- Abilities: Ability to work as part of a crew, follow detailed set-up instructions, and troubleshoot onsite challenges as they arise. Must be dependable, punctual, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 1 year of experience in event setup, general labor, warehouse, or similar physical work preferred. Professional driving experience, including hauling or maneuvering a trailer, is preferred
- Certifications: N/A
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license and DOT Medical Card required
- Other: N/A
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical: Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs or more, bending, standing, and driving for extended periods
- Environment: Primarily off-site at event locations
- Remote Work Eligibility: Not eligible
- Exposure: Some exposure to physical risk
- Travel: Frequent local travel (MD, VA, DC) – 100% of the time
- Work Schedule: Part-time (under 30 hours/week) with flexible scheduling
SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
- REQUIRED: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability
- Hours vary based on event schedule
- Additional weekday hours may be available based on availability
COMPENSATION
- $15.00/hour starting pay
- $16.00/hour after obtaining DOT certification and passing in-house driving test
