Job Description

The Laundry Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the laundry function according to Omni Standards.

Responsibilities

• • Personally supervises the spotting and washing of all stained linens/terry.
  • Oversee the delivery of linens to concerned departments (Rooms, F&B, Spa, Sports Complex)
  • Turns on/checks for on status of the ironer and makes sure it is in good operating condition (wax, etc.)
  • Checks all washing machines and dryers to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Cohesively works with Engineering Department to ensure all Machines/Equipment are operating optimally.
  • Coordinates with Engineering the repairs and preventive maintenance required for all equipment
  • Keeps record of all pending repairs and ensure all staff are informed and up to date on status
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to Assistant Manager
  • Provide coaching and career development for Assistant Manager and Leads/Supervisors
  • Completes weekly schedules in Ontrack and attend Weekly Labor meeting
  • Sets priorities for the day for Laundry staff.
  • Assign all Laundry associates to their stations when they check-in.
  • Keeps count and records of all items processed.
  • Recommends linen to be converted to rags when necessary.
  • Knowledge of hotel, clubhouse, facilities and events.
  • Responsible for the correct folding of all items. Sets priorities for the linen runners in loading and delivery to floors.
  • Inspects all linen before it leaves the Laundry.
  • Create a positive work environment to boost Laundry associate morale, and improve daily production.
  • Responsible for proper station rotation during the day.
  • Responsible for communication with Housekeeping Coordinator, IRD Manager, Restaurant Manager, Banquets Manager, Spa Manager for all daily specials and weekly/monthly requirements.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the resort.
  • Schedule and Attend department meetings and other required company trainings.
  • Complete other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• • • Previous experience in hotel laundry required, preferably in 300 room hotel.
    • Must have working knowledge of Laundry equipment and inventory control.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, performing repetitive work.
    • Must have knowledge of industrial laundry chemicals and their uses.
    • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.  Extra work hours/shifts may be required to ensure that all customer needs are met daily.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, push, pull, stoop, bend, and lift items of moderate to heavy weight for an entire shift.
    • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
