Under the supervision and direction of the Chef(s), performs a variety of cooking and food service support functions. The primary task of the Cook is to prepare foods for café patrons, patients and OMC functions and to prep foods for the next day’s menu and upcoming events. Working in conjunction with the managers, makes suggestions for entrees and side dishes and executes menus for the café. Prepares some foods to order, waits on customers, preps, organizes and maintains a clean, stocked and orderly work station. Assists Chef(s) in all aspects of food preparation, storage and ordering. Is proactive in all aspects of foodservice work that make the Dietary Department operations smooth and efficient.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary arts or chef’s training preferred.
Experience
Minimum of two years healthcare or hospitality industry cooking preferred.
LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS
Have or able to obtain and maintain a Food Handler’s Permit. ServSafe certification preferred.

- Per Diem - 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits)

- Trainer - $1.50/hour
