Canopy by Hilton is currently seeking a dynamic Assistent Food and Beverage Manager to join the best team In Boston!

About the Role:

The Assistant Food & Drink Manager is a vital member of our Food & Drink Leadership team and works closely with the Food & Drink Manager to ensure guests enjoy an exemplary dining experience. This role involves coordinating, supervising, and directing food and beverage operations—including banquet services—while driving guest and team member satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations:

  • Supervise and develop team members through coaching, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and recognition.

  • Greet guests warmly, provide information on outlet hours and local attractions, and respond promptly to requests.

  • Ensure adherence to departmental policies, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Report equipment maintenance needs to the engineering department.

  • Manage payroll, labor costs, and staffing adjustments based on business activity.

  • Handle guest complaints professionally and promptly.

  • Complete end-of-night duties, including cashing out servers and bar, preparing deposits, and ensuring building security.

  • Attend hotel meetings to stay updated on promotions, events, and interdepartmental communications.

Banquet Operations:

  • Oversee all banquet service aspects to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction.

  • Coordinate food and beverage details, including linens, table setups, and decorations.

  • Supervise preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages for events.

  • Inspect room setups and equipment to maintain quality standards.

  • Manage payroll and timesheets for both banquet and restaurant teams.

Leadership & Support:

  • Motivate employees to perform at their highest standard and foster a culture of trust and respect.

  • Lead by example with integrity, professionalism, and enthusiasm.

  • Inspire the team to embrace Canopy by Hilton Boston Downtown’s DNAEPIC – Enthusiastic, Positive, Intuitive, Caring.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef or General Manager.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English; additional languages preferred.

  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.

  • Proficiency with basic computer systems, POS systems, and internet research.

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations, remain calm in emergencies, and respond decisively.

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform manual tasks.

  • Knowledge of Boston area to assist guests with directions and recommendations.

  • Strong mathematical, listening, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to maintaining guest and employer privacy.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in food and beverage management (hotel experience preferred).

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Familiarity with POS systems and common computer software.

  • Hilton experience preferred.

Certifications:

  • ServSafe and TiPS certified.

  • First Aid and CPR certified.

Grooming & Appearance:

  • Must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance according to Olshan Properties standards.

Other:

  • Ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers using patience, tact, and diplomacy.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
