Driver Manager/Dispatcher

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Driver Manager/Dispatcher to oversee daily transportation operations, coordinate freight movement, and ensure efficient vehicle dispatching. In this role, you will serve as the central communication hub between drivers, clients, and internal teams, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and optimizing logistics workflows. Your proactive approach will help streamline road transportation activities, enhance customer satisfaction, and support our supply chain objectives. Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch drivers using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and Vehicle Dispatch Software.
• Manage multi-line phone systems to handle driver inquiries, customer calls, and internal communication efficiently.
• Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain accurate data entry related to freight shipments, driver logs, and delivery schedules while adhering to DOT regulations.
• Communicate effectively with drivers via phone call management and internal messaging platforms to relay instructions, updates, and safety information.
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with logistics standards.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements in road transportation operations and fleet management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching or driver management within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS tracking systems, transportation planning, and logistics principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms like SyteLine.
• Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations governing freight transport and vehicle operation.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—and phone etiquette for effective internal communication and customer service.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience with fleet management software and vehicle dispatching tools is highly desirable.
• Strong analysis skills to evaluate route efficiency, freight loads, and operational performance metrics.
