What you’ll do
- Set up and adjust carton windowing machines for every run.
- Load paperboard blanks and window film rolls; align to exact job specs.
- Calibrate glue systems and guides for consistent placement.
- Run in-process quality checks to verify registration, adhesion, and film position.
Quality and throughput
- Hit target speeds while meeting strict quality standards.
- Inspect output for defects (misaligned windows, glue overflow, scratches, wrinkles).
- Complete all production/quality documentation—counts, downtime, waste.
- Work with QC and finishing teams to resolve issues quickly.
Maintenance and safety
- Perform routine PM: cleaning, lubrication, minor part replacement.
- Troubleshoot and fix minor mechanical/electrical issues to maintain uptime.
- Adhere to plant safety protocols—lockout/tagout, PPE, and housekeeping.
Teamwork that moves the line
- Partner with feeders, packers, and helpers for efficient flow.
- Communicate production status, material needs, and mechanical concerns to supervisors.
- Assist with training apprentices or new team members.
What we’re looking for
- Experience operating finishing/packaging machinery (folding cartons or printing/packaging preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude for setups, adjustments, and light maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to read job tickets, work orders, and quality specs.
- Basic math and measurement proficiency.
Preferred qualifications
- Windowing machine experience.
- Familiarity with adhesives, films, and board substrates.
- Forklift certification or proven safe material handling experience.
Physical requirements
- Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during the shift.
- Comfort in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Willing to work overtime and flexible shifts as production demands.
