What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Fund Accountant, Hedge Fund position at Oliver James?
My client, a top Hedge Fund is looking for an Accounting Associate to join and lead their expanding team. Our client works on a hybrid basis in the North Chicago Suburbs , offers competitive compensation, comprehensive health, PTO and retirement benefit
- Review and report daily trading activity, profit and loss, and fund performance.
- Work with our fund administrator to make sure monthly NAVs (Net Asset Values) are accurate and on time.
- Help prepare valuations of investments in line with accounting rules and internal policies.
- Assist in producing regular reports for investors, regulators, and internal teams.
- Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors during year-end and review financial statements.
- Support the trading team on special private deals and investment tracking.
- Suggest and implement ways to improve processes and internal controls
- A degree in Finance or Accounting with strong grades.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting for private equity, private credit, hedge fund, or public accounting firm.
- CPA qualification or relevant finance/accounting experience in asset management.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with other financial systems is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive.
