Senior Accountant
Oliver James is partnered with a leading P&C insurance company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role will focus on ensuring the accuracy of financial records, statements, and reports in compliance with GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and internal policies. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day accounting activities and broader financial reporting initiatives, while supporting audits and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and supporting analysis.
- Maintain and interpret complex accounting records and financial statements.
- Create journal entries and perform necessary adjustments.
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements.
- Conduct analytical reviews of results during the close process.
- Address inquiries regarding financial outcomes and provide guidance to stakeholders.
- Manage the monthly close cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and monitor account integrity.
- Support annual external audits, as well as budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory requirements, and company policies across all reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5 years of experience in financial accounting.
- Insurance experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- CPA or MBA preferred
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
