Position Overview
The AVP of Finance Transformation serves as a key architect of financial modernization across the enterprise. This leader is responsible for redesigning core financial workflows, implementing new systems, and driving innovation in how the organization manages reporting, controls, and financial operations. The role involves leading cross-functional initiatives, managing complex change efforts, and coordinating with executive and senior leaders to advance strategic goals.
The AVP will play an integral part in major transactions, systems implementations, and enterprise-wide process enhancements. This individual is also expected to champion continuous improvement, monitor emerging industry and regulatory developments, and ensure the organization remains aligned with evolving accounting and reporting standards.
Support the adoption and rollout of new accounting standards and regulatory guidance-such as updates issued by FASB, NAIC, SEC, and other relevant bodies-across the enterprise and its subsidiaries.
Research and assess complex accounting issues, document findings, identify financial and operational impacts, and recommend implementation strategies.
Provide direct support to subsidiary finance teams, including on-site engagement when needed, to strengthen processes, implement new controls, and embed best practices.
Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems and streamline operational workflows, leading or partnering on execution.
Collaborate on strategic transformation initiatives-including reporting modernization efforts and partnerships with data, analytics, and AI teams to elevate process automation and financial insights.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with finance leadership at subsidiary entities to ensure alignment and effective change management.
Mentor team members, provide coaching on technical or process-related topics, and support professional development.
Take ownership of assigned special projects and contribute to additional responsibilities as organizational needs evolve.
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience; insurance industry exposure strongly preferred.
CPA designation is highly advantageous.
Demonstrated leadership capability with experience guiding teams or cross-functional initiatives.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with financial systems, data models, and modern technology tools.
Knowledge of insurance financial processes, industry best practices, and operational workflows.
Background in financial analysis, due diligence, or FP&A is beneficial.
Awareness of emerging technologies-such as AI, low-code platforms, and other innovative IT solutions-that support financial transformation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Salary : $190,000 - $240,000
