Overview:
As a Para Educator, you are responsible for supporting students under the guidance of a teacher. Olive Crest Academy's 360° approach to education is designed to focus on the unique needs of the whole child, ensuring every student is provided the support, resources, and instruction they need to grow in all areas of life. We embrace students who exhibit even the toughest challenges, instilling in them a sense of belonging while giving them the opportunity to shine. As a 1:1, you are also responsible for the transportation of clients to and from school as directed by transportation supervisor. In addition to helping your specific student navigate through their emotions, you will also assist in contributing to their IEP meetings, tutoring, behavior modification, and any classroom assistance as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Assist and mentor specific student throughout the academic year.
- Assist teachers and supervisors as needed in the academy.
- Reenforce individual education and behavior plans with students.
- Monitor class time, breaks, lunch, and during transportation always ensuring a safe environment.
- Collaborate with team to develop, implement, and evaluate goals for both the school and individual students.
- Transport student to and from school.
- Report any serious disciplinary actions, injuries, or behaviors.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least an associate degree or completed 2 years of post- secondary education.
- 21 years or older due to County contract requirements.
- Maintain a valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record of at least 3 years.
- Maintain criminal record clearance
- Must have a philosophy of support for at-risk children and families in line with the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Olive Crest.
