Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience in working on various types of heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires mechanical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. As a Diesel Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Work on a variety of heavy duty truck systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Conduct inspections and repairs on air brake systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems.
- Read and interpret schematics to diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role in automotive or heavy equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Familiarity with dealership operations is preferred but not required.
- Experience with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Previous experience with customer service is an asset.
