Duties
- Operate grinding machines and material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following all manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Prepare raw ingredients through manual handling techniques, including heavy lifting and knife skills, ensuring proper sanitation and food safety standards are maintained throughout the process.
- Monitor machinery for mechanical troubleshooting issues, performing basic repairs or alerting maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
- Follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other regulatory/legal compliance standards to ensure food safety management at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, adhering to sanitation schedules and GMP guidelines to uphold the highest hygiene standards.
- Assist in the baking, cooking, or food preparation processes as required, ensuring consistent product quality.
- Document production activities accurately, including batch records, quality checks, and safety inspections.
- Use material handling equipment such as forklifts responsibly for moving raw materials or finished products while adhering to safety standards in production.
Experience
- Prior experience in food production or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of kitchen or food industry practices including cooking, baking, or food handling is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments such as PPE use, heavy lifting techniques, and regulatory compliance like HACCP and GMP.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes accurately.
- Experience operating machinery such as grinders or mixers is a plus.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is desirable but not mandatory.
