To that end, OCES is looking for a dedicated Protective Services Worker (PSW) to work in our Protective Services department to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect in the elder community.
What You'll Do
- Promote the independent functioning of members and provide services in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment
- Conduct investigations and evaluate the functional capacity, situation and resources of the elder
- Develop and implement appropriate protective services plan to alleviate risk and abuse
- Determine whether a petition to the court for a Protective Order exists and refer situations involving serious abuse to the appropriate District Attorney
- Provide emergency PS department coverage during non-business hours
- Your passion for helping others and desire to make a difference
- Adaptability to be able to change as the needs of consumers and/or programs change
- At least two years of experience in the human services field preferably with the elder population and/or crisis intervention
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field highly preferred; Current licensure if appropriate
- Bilingual preferred
- Ability to work with an enthusiastic team of like-minded individuals
