SCHOOL AGE CARE SITE MANAGER

Under the direction of the Child Development Coordinator, provides leadership and assistance in the care and supervision of children in their daily activities.

The School Age Care Site Manager is distinguished from other classes in that they are assigned to the School Age Care Center only.

• Provides conflict resolution between children;
• Instills behavior management including discipline of all children;
• Practices communication between parents regarding discipline action and action plans;
• Decides actions as a result of discipline issues including suspension or exclusion;
• Calculates multiple daily rates on monthly contract for up to 150 children;
• Verifies contract accuracy for correct number of operating days and correct program;
• Collects payment in full for monthly care (including various fees);
• Communicates with maintenance regarding safety on site (i.e. work requests);
• Participates in and completes training for children with special needs;
• Creates a monthly breakfast and snack menu to be distributed to parents;
• Orders and shops for all food for site (breakfast, snack and other special activities);
• Orders all craft and office supplies for site via purchase order;
• Responsible for all parent questions and concerns regarding any aspect of the site or children;
• Responsible for any special circumstances regarding changes and revisions of existing monthly contract;
• Calculates and authorized any and all billing entries;
• Verifies that all adds to monthly contract are complete and correct;
• Prepares and conducts monthly staff meetings;
• Attends and participates in school staff meetings;
• Responsible for creating monthly newsletter;
• Responsible for creating accurate monthly scheduling calendars;
• Responsible for creating weekly roll call and parent sign-out sheets;
• Responsible for locating all missing children through designated procedures on a daily basis;
• Makes minor decisions in accordance with school policies and to apply these to problem situations;
• Performs other related work as assigned;
• Directs work of School Age Care Assistants.
• Standards of safety, behavior, first aid/CPR, and appropriate activities for school age children.
• Supervise and communicate in an acceptable manner with school age children;
• Create age appropriate activities;
• Maintain interest, order, and discipline among children;
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for children’s safety;
• Communicate policies and procedures with parents/guardians;
• Work independently or without close supervision;
• Work in a multi-task oriented office/center;
• Perform responsible clerical work rapidly and accurately;
• Learn/operate computer and associated programs;
• Meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform assigned duties;
• Maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties;
• Learn and follow the practices, rules, and regulations of the District and the school to which assigned;
• Maintain the confidentiality of school related information.
• High School graduate or the equivalent.
• 48 units from an accredited institution of higher learning, Associate’s Degree or higher, or successful completion of the Sonoma County Department of Education Proficiency exam.
• A minimum of two years experience in education and care of children;
• A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education units and/or experience in the child care field desirable;
• Obtain first aid and CPR certificate within 90 days following employment.
• Obtain fingerprint clearance before employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.84 - $32.61 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
