Position Summary
This position provides strategic, academic, and spiritual leadership for the School of Business programs and people to send servant leaders to advance the Kingdom of Jesus.
The Dean/Director is responsible for fostering academic excellence, innovation, enrollment growth, and program development while ensuring compliance with Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) standards and alignment with OKWU’s transformative educational model.
Responsibilities
Graduate Program Oversight
- Provide visionary leadership forbusinessprograms, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of OKWU.
- Develop facultyculture andpromote professional development.
- Oversee the strategic direction, implementation, and evaluation ofcurrent and future business programs, people, and processes.
- Develop and manage initiatives to promote growthboth on ground and onlineand innovation inbusinesseducation and training.
- Serve as a representative of OKWU inbusinesspartnerships,maintainingstrong relationships with local, national, and global organizations.
- Maintainaccreditation within school and university.
Graduate Program Oversight
- Direct all graduate programs, including curriculum, delivery models (online, hybrid, and in-person), and student outcomes.
- Provide training modulesand development opportunitiesforadjunctgraduate faculty.
- Develop and launch new graduate programs that reflect market demand and OKWU’s mission.
- Collaborate with enrollment and marketing teams to increase graduate enrollment and improve retention and completion rates.
- Support adult and nontraditional learners with flexible, high-quality programming.
Faculty Development
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty who are committed to academic excellenceanddiscipleship.
- Ensure faculty qualificationsandcredentialingmeet HLC standards.
- Create an environment that prioritizesscholarship, professional engagement, and innovation in teaching.
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, and mission-alignedfacultyculture.
Growth and Development
- Develop and implement strategies to grow OKWU’sbusinessprograms, including student enrollment, partnerships, and funding.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to promotebusiness-related programs to prospective students and stakeholders.
- Identifyand pursue external funding opportunities to support program expansion and sustainability.
Student Support and Mentorship
- Mentor and support students pursuingbusiness-related degrees or programs, fostering spiritual and leadership development.
- Provide guidance to studentsand graduatesas they prepare for vocational ministry or other leadership roles.
Collaboration and Administration
- Collaborate with theOffice of the Provost, faculty, and staff to ensure program quality and effectiveness.
- Adhere to university policies while managingbudgets, resources, and reporting requirements for assigned programs and initiatives.
- Participate in university committees, events, and initiatives to promote the mission of OKWU.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Terminaldegree inbusinessor a related fieldrequired.
- Significant experiencein leadership, Christian education, or a similar role.
- Proventrack recordof successfully managing programs, partnerships, or grants in a higher education orbusinesssetting.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of Wesleyan theology and the ability to uphold and promote OKWU’sbiblically orthodoxvalues.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build andmaintainstrategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with grant administration, program evaluation, and reporting.
- Ability to mentor and inspire studentsforministry and leadership roles.
- Commitment to the spiritual formation and professional growth of students.
