Job Title: OSU Alumni Association Alumni Engagement Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Alumni Engagement
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Nature of Work:
The Alumni Engagement Coordinator will develop, oversee, and enhance alumni relations across multiple counties, including Cleveland/McClain, Cherokee Strip, Kingfisher, Washington, Beckham/Roger Mills, Lincoln, Pottawatomie, and Comanche. This position also includes assistance with other alumni engagement initiatives and programs such as, Bound for Stilly, Orange Fridays at Iron Monk, Grad Finale, and Cowboys for Cause.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and oversee programming plans to engage alumni through educational, networking, and social events tailored to various interests.
- Organize and implement chapter meetings and events.
- Advise alumni volunteers and support their efforts in organizing activities.
- Represent the University and Alumni Association at events, fostering effective alumni relations through ongoing communication.
- Promote alumni association membership, engagement, and participation among alumni and friends.
- Maintain and update the engagement calendar, including chapter meeting information, and communicate this to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the summer sales team to facilitate student attendance at incoming freshmen celebrations (Bound for Stilly events).
- Attend on-campus tabling events such as Grad Finale contributing to the visibility of alumni programs.
- Oversee Orange Friday events during football season.
- Oversee Cowboys for a Cause Programming
Evaluation and Improvement
- Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of programs/services, identifying problems and recommending improvements.
- Serve as a resource for alumni and others regarding alumni and University programs and activities.
- Collaborate with university partners to execute joint venture events and activities, ensuring cohesive alumni engagement strategies.
- Work with the communications and marketing team to promote chapter programs and events.
- Collaborate with the finance team to assist in managing chapter budgets and accounts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Competencies and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Experience:
One to five years of experience in public relations, marketing, business management, or alumni affairs is preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to perform under pressure and make sound decisions during events.
- Effective written and oral communication skills; strong public speaking abilities.
- Strong organizational skills to plan, implement, and evaluate strategic objectives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and familiarity with Ascend software.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to set priorities, develop work schedules, monitor progress towards goals, and track engagement.

Work Environment: The position is primarily office-based with events and activities held in various locations. Availability to work nights and weekends is required based on event scheduling. Travel within designated counties is necessary. Approximately 20% of the job may be conducted outside of the office.

- Capable of transporting parcels, packages, and other items.
- Ability to remain stationary for short and long durations.
