Department Summary
- Assist in maintaining, updating, and verifying HACCP temp logs and manufacture log
- Participate in internal audits and assist with external inspections as needed
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, logs, and documentation for all QA and HACCP-related activities
- Assist in maintaining SOP’s, Student food safety training materials
- Help train new and existing student staff on HACCP procedures, food safety policies, and sanitation standards
- Provide hands-on guidance during production to ensure food safety compliance
- Perform facility observations to assess sanitation and student employee practices
- Student supervision of allergen management, time and temperature control of ready-to-eat foods, cross-contamination prevention, and chemical safety.
Job Profile
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Works in Ohio University culinary services, providing customer service, preparing food, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a positive experience for students and staff. Duties may include serving/preparing/stocking food, dining room and dishroom cleaning, inventory, cashiering, and hostessing.
Level Summary
Performs basic tasks and assists with administrative or operational duties under supervision. Roles are entry-level and aimed at providing exposure to workplace environments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Limited supervisory responsibilities. May supervise other student workers.
Fiscal Responsibilities:
No budgetary responsibility.
Problem Solving:
Addresses routine, well-defined problems under supervision.
Independence of Action:
Works under close supervision.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicates primarily with supervisor and peers. Collaborates with team members to accomplish tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post-secondary education institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or immediate upcoming semester. Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines. Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools. Departments may have specific minimum requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Working Condition/Physical Demands:
This role is a balance between data entry and training creation, and enforcement of HACCP Student Policies and assisting with dates and rotation of product.
