The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring timely and effective implementation of all company’s policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of handling customer products. They will maintain close working relationships with department managers and supervisory personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor handling, quality control and product integrity. Reviewing efficiency and quality.
- Assist in developing guidance procedures, best practice protocol such as checklists and guidebooks.
- Evaluate procedures and processes and provide recommendations for improvement
- Responsible for verification of any over/short/damage loads.
- Work with supervisors to conduct load audits.
- Responsible for verification and investigation of any pallet “skips”.
- Ensure full inventory, and/or annual physical counts, are completed in a timely manner. This position is responsible for the warehouse/floor portion, the office admin is responsible for the administrative part. This involves but is not limited to: assigning team member for the count, scheduling the days for the count, discrepancy investigation, and communication with office admin.
- Responsible to conduct cycle counts and report respectively. Expectation is to work with management and customer for number of counts required per week.
- Responsible for damaged freight process; customer communication, follow up, floor storage and communication, etc.
- Understanding of customer processes
- Responsible for assisting in developing new customer SOPs and quarterly review of all SOP’s.
- Inventory management from a physical perspective – ensuring all rows are parallel and items are not out of order.
- Perform root cause analysis investigations for customer complaints and quality failures.
- Assist in the oversight of general facility maintenance and housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in inventory control; prefer experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Forklift experience. Certification upon hire will be required.
