What You’ll Be Doing
- Source and manage freight opportunities for asset‑based third‑party logistics (3PL) services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carrier partners
- Act as the primary point of contact between carriers and customers to ensure seamless transportation execution
- Provide accurate freight rates and pricing options tailored to customer needs
- Coordinate compliance with brokerage licensing requirements alongside the Director of Transportation and Safety Coordinator
- Prepare and manage freight documentation, including claims, insurance forms, and operational reports
- Monitor equipment and personnel utilization to optimize schedules and capacity
- Maintain accurate shipment, dispatch, and expense records
- Verify shipment details against bills of lading and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Support additional transportation and logistics initiatives as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in freight brokerage, dispatching, or load planning
- Strong working knowledge of TMS systems and 3PL operations
- Experience with freight rate calculations, contract negotiation, and sales strategies
- Proficiency with administrative tasks, recordkeeping, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid understanding of transportation safety and security protocols
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle time‑sensitive situations with confidence
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Standard office environment with indoor work conditions
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required
- Must be able to remain calm and effective during high‑pressure or crisis situations
- Works in close proximity to others with low to moderate noise levels
