What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Unit Management [Human Services Program Administrator 3] position at Ohio Department of Youth Services?
The Opportunity: We are seeking a Director of Unit Management to lead the development and oversight of behavior management systems across our juvenile correctional facilities. In this role, you will design the policies that shape youth discipline and behavior modification, serving as a key leader in maintaining a safe, habilitative environment.
Core Responsibilities
Policy Leadership: develop, implement, and refine policies to ensure alignment with agency goals. Ensure procedures remain compliant, effective, and habilitative.
System Management: Provide comprehensive management of the Youth Discipline and Youth Behavior Management System, including budget development and expense monitoring.
Training and Development: Design and implement behavior modification training. Provide technical support and assistance to staff to ensure consistent application of techniques.
Data and Compliance: Develop and monitor incident reporting and data collection systems. Analyze metrics to provide regular reports to Bureau Chiefs.
Systems Liaison: Serve as the division liaison to IT for the development and monitoring of Juvenile Justice Case Management System (JJCMS). Gather operational needs from Bureau Chiefs to drive system improvements.
Completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science or pre-medicine; and 24 mos. exp. in delivery of human services or medical assistance in governmental, community or private human support services agency or medical provider; and 6 mos. exp. in management; and 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques.
Or completion of graduate core program in social or behavioral science or medicine-related field; and 18 mos. exp. in delivery of human services or medical assistance in governmental, community or private human support services agency or medical provider; and 6 mos. exp. in management; and 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques.
