What You Will Do
As a Senior IT Project manager within the organization, you will bring your project management experience and training to the organization to oversee projects—facilitating project health, best practices, and efficiency. You will be positioned within the Employment Resources section among a group of other Project Managers working to fulfill the function of the Portfolio Management Office.
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Location: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS Facility in one of the following cities - Columbus, Akron, or Dayton. This determination will take into account the proximity to the applicant's home address.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 16. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $47.90 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Serve as a project manager within the Office of Information Services (OIS) Portfolio Management Office (PMO).
- Receive and maintain an assigned collection of 4-8 active, concurrent projects across diverse, interesting lines of business e.g. Office of Information Services, Employee and Business Services, Office of Child Support, Finance, etc.
- Establish relationships with Business Relationship Managers and business sponsors to learn the business goals/objectives/needs for each assigned project.
- Meet and facilitate the discussion of regular status meetings.
- Collaborate with the assembled project team where the entire team identifies the best solution to fulfill the business area’s needs, the technical solutions to be built, and the specific tasks to be performed to design, build, test, deploy, and support those solutions.
- Exercise your existing project management skills and continue to build skills in scope management, schedule management, project team management, risk management, stakeholder management, and project status reporting.
- Collaborate with the project team to exercise problem-solving skills as issues and challenges arise e.g. project delays, ambiguous scope, infeasible scope, project extensions, inadequate resources, etc.
- Communicate skillfully, clearly, and regularly through virtual meetings, virtual discussions, emails, status reports, and instant messaging.
- Maintain entries on project tasks, task members, issues/risks, and status reporting within centralized, online project and portfolio management centralized platform (Clarity®).
- Collaborate with a team of fellow project managers to search for ways to innovate and continually improve the organization’s processes and skills.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- 12 months employment for the State of Ohio as Project Manager 1, 63381 or IT Project Manager 1, 63384.
- 4 years experience in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., Business Relationship Manager)
- 12 months experience in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
- Successful completion of 2 year post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned.
- 12 months experience in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
- 12 months experience in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation).
- The equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
