Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, with experience in patient assessment and care plan development. This role involves working closely with patients to promote health and wellness through tailored dietary recommendations, particularly in settings such as a Developmental Center. The Dietitian will also collaborate with the Food Service Supervisor, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide health coaching to patients, guiding them on dietary choices that support their health goals, including weight loss and management of chronic conditions.
- Supervise the dietary department staff, ensuring effective team collaboration and adherence to best practices in nutrition care.
- Administer tube feeding as necessary, monitoring patients for tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional interventions.
- Utilize EMR systems for documentation of patient evaluations, care plans, and progress notes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into overall patient care strategies, particularly in geriatrics and hospital settings.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations to identify nutritional deficiencies or risks associated with various medical conditions.
- Stay current with developments in the field of dietetics and nutrition to provide evidence-based recommendations.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field; registered dietitian certification preferred.
- Proven experience in a clinical setting, particularly within long-term care or acute care environments.
- Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and dietary practices.
- Familiarity with dietary department operations and management is advantageous.
- Experience using EMR systems for patient documentation is preferred.

Pay: $29.09 - $36.65 per hour
