At the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), Nurse Supervisors play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of clients. They oversee direct care nursing services and act as a liaison between medical services and other disciplines. Specifically, their responsibilities include:
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Position Qualifications
Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code; 24 mos. exp. in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in public relations; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in counseling.

At the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), Nurse Supervisors play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of clients. They oversee direct care nursing services and act as a liaison between medical services and other disciplines. Specifically, their responsibilities include:
- Receives administrative direction from the Nurse Executive for the planning & implementation of total nursing care on assigned shift
- Provides general and direct supervision to nursing staff
- Makes rounds of residential areas & monitors the nursing care plan documentation, recovery-focused therapeutic programs & environmental safety residential area
- Serves as Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) for the entire facility after hours as needed

Additional Salary / Appointment Information
- Must be able to complete a 4 week full time orientation (Will include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts, and weekends)
- May work weekends and holidays; may be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior
- Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment
