BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with research projects pertaining to non-fatal and fatal occupational injuries/illnesses.
  • Collect and enter data into BLS program databases for Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) and the Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) programs.
  • Review, research, and refine establishment information for employers included in the SOII program.
  • Assist with data correction and verification processes for information reported for the SOII program.

To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate

3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical techniques used in problem solving or decision making.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Skill in: Public relations, public speaking, customer service, operation of PC, MS Office, BLS computer system*.

Ability to: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, & draw valid conclusions, use research methods in gathering data, prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports, use proper research methods in gathering data, cooperate with co-workers on group projects, handle sensitive inquiries & contacts with officials & general public, relate with employers and other internal and external customers.

Unusual Working Conditions

Position may require travel, therefore persons occupying this position must provide their own transportation &/or legally operate a state owned vehicle.
